If an officer smells alcohol on your breath, he or she is certainly going to be concerned about the fact that you’re driving under the influence. Other things they typically look for are slurred speech, a flushed face, glossy and red and watery eyes. If you’re asked to step out of the car, are you unsteady on your feet?
