With over 20 years of experience in the field of mental health & substance abuse, Evan is a nationally recognized expert in working with all those battling complex mental health and dual diagnosis disorders by creating effective Intervention solutions that break through seemingly impenetrable walls of resistance, denial, and even bureaucratic red tape by focusing on the underlying issues impairing the ability to function independently. Although Evan’s work is complex, his philosophy is simple, “No matter what anyone tells you, you no longer have to wait for your loved one to be an imminent danger to themselves or others to take action. Instead of waiting for the bottom to fall out, together we can take decisive action now with a solid plan of action, a unified approach, and a steady hand.“
Evan began his career working as an outreach counselor for a local community mental health center helping families in crisis successfully comply with drug, family, & criminal court-mandated counseling & case management orders. As a result, early in his career, Evan recognized the impact of being able to bring substance and mental health services out of the classical office setting and directly into the homes of those battling substance abuse, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, schizophrenia, and PTSD.Evan completed his internship in mental health counseling at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital, while completing his clinical addiction training at the Hazelden School for Addiction Studies. He has appeared as a special guest on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, The Bill Cunningham Show, ABC, NBC & CBS News, The Huffington Post, while lecturing for organizations including, The United Way, The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI), and Novasoutheastern University.
